About Orleans Parish Criminal History

Criminal records in Orleans Parish are divided among New Orleans police, the parish sheriff, criminal court clerks, Louisiana State Police, corrections offices, and the state registry. Knowing which office created a record can save time. This private resource organizes official portals, addresses, phone contacts, and request routes so readers can reach the proper government custodian.

Why We Built This Site

Louisiana permits access to many public records, but no one office holds the full Orleans Parish record trail. NOPD keeps police reports. The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office manages booking and jail information. Criminal court clerks maintain filed charges, minutes, and dispositions. Louisiana State Police BCII maintains the Louisiana Computerized Criminal History repository, while Louisiana DPS&C handles corrections records and the Louisiana State Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry provides its own public search. Bringing the verified access routes together makes that divided system easier to navigate.

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference resource with no connection to a Louisiana court, police department, sheriff, or state office. Its role has clear limits:

  • It cannot run an official check or retrieve a person's criminal record
  • It cannot submit a public-record request or expungement filing for a reader
  • It cannot issue certified court papers or repository records
  • It cannot provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, or case
  • It cannot promise that an office's fee, hours, or contact details have not changed

Official copies must come from the office that maintains the record, such as the court clerk, sheriff, NOPD, or Louisiana State Police BCII.

Search Partners

Some record pages contain search tools supplied by outside companies. Those providers control their results, fees, signup terms, and privacy practices. A paid enrollment reached through one of those tools may produce a referral payment that supports site operations. Orleans Parish Criminal History does not set the provider's prices or decide what its reports contain.
